Taylor Arabians

About Us

Dreams Do Come True....

Danielle Paget grew up on the back of an Arabian...literally. As a baby, her Dad placed her in an infant carrier on his back and rode with her on "Rhonda" (Royale Delmara) through the Allegheny National Forest in Pennsylvania. Rhonda is now a thirty five year old mare who graces our pastures in Mississippi and is also fondly known as "Grandma". Danielle won her first championship in Western Pleasure at the age of twelve. She has been a life-long advocate for horses, in particular, the Arabian horse and has been passionate in her pursuit to improve the breed. Danielle's early career with Arabians placed her in notable farms, her first being with Everett and Jo Shea at Windfall Arabians in St. Mary's, Pennsylvania. She remembers her work there fondly and enjoys her continuing relationship with the Sheas. Echo Magnifficoo's Dam, SS Magnolia, and Desert Sand were only two of the many Arabians at Windfall Arabians that Danielle recalls with enthusiasm.

Arabians then took Danielle to Alabama to work for Jack Thomas, and from there, she and her young daughter, Katelynn, arrived in Texas, where her work and love of the Arabian breed continued. Through her work at Don and Alison Stran's Southern Star Arabians, she met Michael Byatt and a special friendship was formed. Danielle's philosophies and beliefs about this excellent breed and love for the horses coincided with Mr. Byatt's. Fill the heart of a child with the special gift of an Arabian, and the two will grow as one. Danielle is certainly proof of that!

Susan Taylor has loved the Arabian horse since her childhood, but had never had the
right circumstances to maintain one. When her sons were young, she would often
take them to an Arabian horse farm near her home to feed the horses apples and
watch the magnificence of these graceful horses. Her dream was to have one Arabian
horse to share her life. Years later, when Trey received his first Arabian horse from
Danielle, Susan visited shortly thereafter and her love for the Arabian was reinforced.

Trey Taylor, an attorney by trade, and a lover of nature, by personality, had a very special home for Arabians who would be his exceptional pets, outside of his aging, portly black Lab. Danielle selectively placed three Arabians with Trey before the trip to Alpharetta mentioned below. Trey, new to horses at the time, learned to appreciate the distinct personalities of each of his Arabians and their unique beauty.

On Labor Day weekend, 2003, Danielle Paget, Susan Taylor and two of her sons, Richard Taylor and Trey Taylor drove to Jabar Farms in Alpharetta, Georgia. The trip began with a telephone call from Danielle to the Taylor family on Saturday with the statement "We're going to Jabar Farms in Alpharetta, Georgia". The trip to Alpharetta placed Danielle and Susan together in an event that struck each of them powerfully - meeting Padron. Upon visiting Jabar Farms, everyone present knew something significant had occurred. The meeting was the attainment of a dream for Danielle, who as a child had a room postered wall to wall with pictures of Padron. Danielle, in being allowed to personally handle Padron by his trainer Jerry, went beyond her dream. There were no dry eyes in the house! Susan saw the beauty of the horses she had always loved in a truly gorgeous setting. Each left Alpharetta changed for the better.

Two weeks later, at Danielle's suggestion, the group came together once again at Michael Byatt's First Open House. After watching the overwhelming presentation of exquisite Arabians that was amazing... Zagrobla...Shalina...Besson Carol...Marwan al Shaqab....Bengali...it was sensory overload. Each of the small group had observed a particularly beautiful filly during the show. After the show, each of the group looked at the horse, but one in particular, kept coming to mind. Later that afternoon, the filly was again brought into the white-fenced show arena. Upon being released, tail high in the air, the filly presented herself beautifully up and down the arena. Then, midstride, she turned and stopped directly in front of Susan, inquisitively stretching her neck and placing her face within inches. The filly's name was HB Bessolea (Besson Carol x Credit to Society) and she named herself to be the first filly to be brought into the new farm which is now Taylor Arabians. The same day, the beautiful weanling colt, Padagonia (Besson Carol x Padron's Afterglow) became out first colt. Both of these majestic young horses were bred by Christine Bruce and John Hilliard.

Taylor Arabians continues to pursue the dreams of its founders, which have become one and the same - First, to always act in the best interest of the individual horse and second, to produce the most outstanding Arabians in betterment of the breed. Our Farm is dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the natural beauty of the Arabian horse through very selective breeding. Our goal - beauty, grace, balance, elegance, presence - in short, the correct Arabian Horse which draws the best from both of its parents.

The Incomparable Maya El Jamaal

We have began an exciting and beautiful journey which we hope you will enjoy it with us. For now, it's most important to recognize those who have been influential. Danielle, for without her genuine love and appreciation of the Arabian horse, her understanding of these wonderful animals and her passion for the improvement of the breed, we would not have the inspiration and guidance that we follow without hesitation. Michael Byatt, who genuinely represents the breed with elegance and knowledge, as he maintains always, integrity and honor, for his Arabians, and for us...has been a visionary. Christine Bruce and John Hilliard, who bred HB Bessolea and Padagonia, and let us share their vision. Robin Hopkinson, who honored us in showing HB Bessolea and who has always been ready and willing to help us and provide direction when asked. Robert Cass, always gracious and welcoming, has also guided us through a maze, and does constantly, with ongoing questions. DeShane Williams at AHA, who is kind and energetic in helping Taylor Arabians make certain that registrations, nominations, embryo transfers, and every other transaction is complete. Scott Bailey and David Cains, who have the patience of Job, and make our lives better and more understood...we thank each of you.
